New Friends Become New Neighbors at The Covington

“So many residents say they wonder why they waited so long to move in.”

— Tracy Stebick

It is said that fences make good neighbors and for many of us over the years, this has proven to be true — it is as much about respecting others as it is about taking care of yourself and your family. At The Covington though, part of being a good neighbor means ensuring our gate is open to welcome others in.

Our resort-style experience offers a fresh take on independent senior living in Orange County, CA. Held in the South Courtyard, the gatherings offer potential residents a chance to meet and talk to the staff and those who already call our wonderful campus home.

The regularly scheduled events are well attended. Tracy Stebick, Director of Sales & Marketing says the get togethers provide an authentic experience for people considering making The Covington their new home. “It allows us to introduce the community in a personal, intimate way.”

For potential residents, speaking to current residents is perhaps the most valuable aspect. “Hearing just how wonderful The Covington is from the people who live here is so important,” Tracy says. “Our residents are the experts.”

People have many different reasons for considering The Covington, providing independent senior living in Orange County, CA. Some may have a spouse with memory care needs or have even lost a spouse. This event allows them to connect with those in the community who have had a similar experience. Tracy says that by mingling with residents, “guests feel a sense of support and comfort, rather than being alone.”

The reluctance that people feel about moving is something most residents experienced before joining the community. Leaving a house that has been home for decades can be difficult. Getting a chance to see firsthand the lifestyle that The Covington residents enjoy is a tangible demonstration that life doesn’t have to change. “They can see the possibilities,” Tracy says. “In fact, so many residents say they wonder why they waited so long to move in.”

The Covington’s Creative Living philosophy is grounded in a positive approach to life-long learning and the Mix and Mingle helps potential residents understand all the opportunities that await them here.

Tracy says the culinary team also makes sure that guests get to sample some of the great food residents enjoy every day. “Mike Desimone, Executive Chef and his team do an amazing job and their contribution to the Mix and Mingle afternoons are appreciated by all.” More of these invitation-only events are coming soon.

For Tracy, a former marketing and real estate manager, joining the The Covington just felt right. “Our purpose here is so meaningful and I am grateful to be able to do work that supports seniors and senior living.”

Gratitude is something that is in abundance at The Covington, and we are honored to share it with everyone, especially potential new residents.

Our gate is open for you.
