Elizabeth Saldebar, New Team Member at MonteCedro, Reflects on how ECS Builds Community

Elizabeth Saldebar joined MonteCedro as a Sales Counselor in December, 2020. A family friend lived at MonteCedro, so when Elizabeth saw the career opportunity, she knew she had to apply. “There was an instant connection. It was like a homecoming,” she says.

The connection was instant for ECS as well. “When I met her, I knew she was the right fit for us,” says Krista Nay, Vice President, Sales and Marketing. ECS is an advocate for opportunities, so Krista was convinced that Elizabeth’s dedication to the community, as seen through her extensive volunteer work, spoke to her innate alignment with ECS’s values.

Elizabeth raised her family in the Pasadena area. Along with her mother, she ran a boutique in San Marino, near Pasadena for 25 years. She was part of the PTA and headed up fundraisers to help local schools. She was also a scout leader and on the board of her church. She supported the junior league and raised funds for the neonatal unit. Her ongoing work with charitable organizations demonstrates her commitment to making where she lives a better place — a reflection of ECS’s mission.

She started in her role just weeks before our vaccination program rolled out. “When I saw the care and professionalism with which the program was delivered to the residents, I knew I had made the right choice to work at MonteCedro.”

Her deep connection to the region inspires her work. “I love the area. You know your neighbors. We all feel the support of the community here. And MonteCedro is an extension of that. It feels like a family.” In fact, many of the residents were her customers at the boutique she owned with her mother. “People recognize me here. There’s an immediate rapport.”

The pride she feels in working for a non-profit is profound. “ECS really puts our residents first. I would want my parents to be here.” In addition, there is a strong sense of belonging, built through the programming offered. “People share similar interests, from the arts to music.”

Reflecting on her new career, she says, “I believe ECS has offered me an opportunity to work alongside amazing individuals. The work environment means the days here are really enriching.”

Welcome, Elizabeth. We’re glad you have joined the team at ECS.
